CFA-Sound Supersaw OSC V 0.17 - In search for the Supersaw…

CFA-Sound Supersaw OSC V 0.17

Everyone who produces electronic music knows the infamous Supersaw of the Roland JP8000/8080, and even it`s a relatively old synthesizer this specific waveform or better sayed oscillator mode is still used and wanted. Also for myself, but more in terms of discovering how it works and how to emulate it. During the last year, i worked on a small emulation of it as little side project for fun & learning primary, and well here it is, the current result. It`s not final, and surely in some specific areas not 100% like original but very close based on the comparision to the real one and the specs.

CFA-Sound Supersaw OSC V 0.17

The current build version (v0.15) is pretty close to the original in the mix and detune behaviour but the pure waveform wth it`s own air-like touch isn`t exactly on that level as wanted, but with further updates it will come closer. So feel free to download the current version, it`s just the oscillator itself with a basic ADSR evenlope and output volume control. Feedback (specially to improve the quality and get it closer to the original) is highly welcome and appreciated – just write it as coment below. The plugin is WinOS 32-Bit only – but will work via JBrigde also in 64-Bit DAWs.

UPDATE v0.17 is online! Changelog: - improved waveform - improved aliasing behaviour - adjustments on the phase control - new ADSR envelope with shape control (falling, linear or raising slope) - reduced unwanted artefacts on overlapping notes - adjusted default values (strg + left mouse click on a controller sets them to default value)

Some Seiously Nice Freebies from BrainWORX!!!!

bx_solo

Free! — bx_solo is a nice little tool that we have designed to get you started with and used to the way we approach the M/S technique – be it for recording-, mixing- or mastering purposes. The "heart" of our M/S tools are our unique SOLO BUTTONS that allow you to actually LISTEN to all components of a stereo mix / stereo signal individually.

L(LEFT channel), R(RIGHT channel), M(MONO sum, mid signal) & S(STEREO-Difference, side signal) - and all this phase-corrected (when needed) and mono-ed out on both speakers of your system. This is very helpful when working in M/S modes (because especially listening to only the S-signal of a stereo mix is not so easy to do with modern DAW stations) and to check your signals / mixes for errors, noises, clicks, whatever...

bx_solo also contains a stepped M/S Stereo Width Control, so you can get an impression about what you can actually do with it. Do try it out on subgroups (makes rock guitar subgroups jump out of your speakers at about 150%!), FX returns, keyboards / samplers, etc.

Using the Stereo Width Control too heavily may lead to phase problems. bx_control & bx_digital both have the Mono Maker on board - this tool will be able to get rid off these phase problems with its unique way of mono-ing out your stereo signals / mixes only in the bass frequencies – Mono Maker is the solution - unless you really over-do the settings…

To be able to fine-adjust the Stereo Width Control (and use Mono Maker at the same time for best results!) please try bx_control.

There is a 14 day free trial without the need for any iLok USB dongle for all of our tools in the download section of our website!

bx_cleansweep

Free! — bx_cleansweep is a new Hi-Pass and Lo-Pass filter plug-in, introducing the new “Anti Crush Technology” (originally developed by Brainworx).

Analog style filter curves without the typical Nyquist problems, in a new great sounding filter design (taken from our pro mastering EQ bx_digital V2). First order filters (6 dB per octave) guarantee an extremely musically sounding filter set, and unique joystick control (taken from bx_hybrid) gives you fast and intuitive control.

bx_cleansweep is the plugin that should go into every mix channel as the first plugin. This way you can filter out any unwanted hi-end and lo-end, and the result is a clean and tight mix.

Ever thought about why there are Hi-Pass and Lo-Pass filter in every channel of the most expensive analog consoles (SSL, NEVE, etc.), but why most EQs are missing this feature?

Clever shortcuts (Alt/Shift/Ctrl) allow for detailed control over the X-axis and Y-axis of the joystick, and the EQ knobs can be set to precision mode by shift-click as well.

Do you pay for VSTis? VSTs?

So i recently received an email from  PluginBoutique , informing me they are having a sale, I usually ignore sales and promo emails, however, as i decided to go ahead and take a look , i have to admit its quite the sale.

I purchased Izotope Nectar Elements for €33 (77% off)  which is pretty sweet, considering i was looking for something for vocals with an easy learning curve,They also have stuff from Slate Digital, Acon Digital, Rob Papen, and the Waves Gold Bundle (60% Off), plus a couple more, so get it while you can. hope it helps
